Some things just move you

My work entitles me to browse the internet throughout the day. I go through so much content that very little actually makes me stop and think. Even lesses is that content on the net which can truly move you. I don’t know who posted this link or where I got it from, I must have opened it in a new tab to look at it whenever I had time. I do that often. When I saw the first image on the page, I couldn’t figure out what to do as there were no menu’s, no links unlike traditional website’s you see. I just happened to scroll down and I couldn’t stop till the end. How do I donate ?

Most of us are financially stable or at least comfortable without knowing it. While our needs are met, we want more. This video on the value of Rs. 500 to different people is a good example of what I’m talking about. I have often wished to find a way to financially assist those in real need. However, the idea of contributing to an “NGO” or an agency that assists people in need has never appealed to me. For one, I don’t know what’s being done with my hard earned money. Next, their costs of operations are often bloated to cater to needs of management. Also, their integrity is in doubt. Ecstasy !

Many years later, not only did i get to see our old family car, I got to drive it for the first time ! This 1946 Morris has been in our family for years now. It was purchased for $100 from an ex-royal of Rajasthan. When I was a little kid, the family used to go for an annual vacation to our ancestral home in Rajasthan. For many years, the car was there unused in the garage and one on such visit, probably when I was 10 , we went out for a drive in it. All I remember was pushing the car more than being driven in it !! Last week, I visited the house after 18 years for a wedding in the family. Starting a blog now !

A lot of changes happening in the year 2010, hopefully for the good ! First off, I have one email address . In the past, I’ve always managed to be strangled with free email ID’s from yahoo, hotmail, in.com etc for various reasons. Its nice to be able to reduce the time required to manage the spam and lists in all of them and to know your own email ID explicitly.  Next, I’ve finally booked a domain name for myself – anil.biz ! I’ve done if for so many people, companies organizations and entities that I never got around to getting one for myself.
